Carmen Rasmusen was an American Idol finalist. She has gone on from the competition to blaze a career in country music. Rasmusen is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, sometimes casually called the Mormon Church or LDS Church.

Carmen Rasmusen was born on March 25, 1985, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. She came in 6th on the second season of American Idol in 2003. She was the only contestant under age 18 during that season. She also plays the piano and the guitar. [1]

The second of four children, Rasmusen has been performing in public since the age of five: singing, dancing (including cheerleading, tap, ballet and hip-hop dance), and playing the piano. She attended Woods Cross high school in northern Utah and Brigham Young University.

In June 2008 Carmen starred as one of the headliners for a live music show in Branson, Missouri, called America's Favorite Finalists. The show featured six top 12 American Idol Finalists performing their own music, cover songs and group numbers. The show ran at the Grand Palace. Her first CD, Carmen, was self-released and included her first single, "Photograph."
