Milton Addis “Mitt” Romney was born on June 20, 1899, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to George Ernest Romney and Hannah Elizabeth Ottinger. He was best friends with his cousin George W. Romney, who named his son Mitt after him.
He was a brother to E. L. "Dick" Romney, George Ottinger Romney, and Floyd Eccles Romney.
Romney was married twice; he married Ruth Haffenberg and after her death in 1937, he married Hazel Patricia Churchman.
He died on November 11, 1975.
