David Roskelley is an avid mountain climber. He achieved his goal to climb the “7 summits” or the highest mountains on each of the seven continents (Mount Elbrus, Cerro Aconcagua, Mount Kilimanjaro, Denali, Carstensz Pyramid, Mount Everest, and Mount Vinson). He has also climbed the “Volcanic Seven Summits,” or the highest volcano on each of the seven continents. On January 18, 2020, he reached his final summit, that of Mount Sidley in Antarctica, thus becoming the first American to complete this challenge. He likes to sing "High on the Mountain Top" on each summit.

Roskelley is also the founding partner in an environmental engineering firm called R&R Environmental, Inc. His firm has been working with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the historic temple renovation projects in Salt Lake City, St. George, Manti, and Cardston, Alberta, Canada.

He was born on October 24, 1968, in Chicago, Illinois. He holds a Master of Science degree in Public Health from the University of Utah. He is also adjunct faculty at the University of Utah, Rocky Mountain Center for Occupational and Environmental Health.

He is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ and served as a missionary to the Navajo and Apache Nations in the Arizona Phoenix Mission.

Roskelley and his wife, Lynda, have three sons.
