Stephen Woodruff Owen was sustained as the Young Men general president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 4, 2015.
Owen was born in March 1958 in Salt Lake City. He earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Utah. He owns the Great Harvest Bread Company in Provo, Utah.
He has served in many positions in the Church, including stake president, bishop, ward Young Men president, and full-time missionary in the Texas San Antonio Mission. He presided over the California Arcadia Mission from 2005 to 2008.
He and his wife, Jane, are the parents of five children.
