Karl Beckstrand is an award-winning and bestselling author of numerous e-books. His writing in several genres, including YA, short stories, children’s mysteries, nonfiction, biographies, multilingual and multicultural. His titles include The Bridge of the Golden Wood: A Parable on How to Earn a Living; Bright Star, Night Star: An Astronomy Story; Great Cape o’ Colors; Ma MacDonald Flees the Farm; Crumbs on the Stairs; Why Juan Can’t Sleep; Polar Bear Bowler; She Doesn’t Want the Worms; and many others.
Beckstrand earned his bachelor’s degree in journalism from Brigham Young University and a master’s degree in international relations from American Public University. He has a certificate from Film A. Academy. He teaches media—which includes traditional and digital book publishing, scripts, and Web content—at a state college.
Beckstrand was a technical recruiter in Silicon Valley. He is also a presenter and workshop facilitator and has presented for Taiwan’s Global Leadership for Youth, California's Capital Book Festival, Utah Educational Library Media Association, Called to Learn conference, Salt Lake City Book Festival, PCI Webinars, Utah Humanities Council, Profnet, Murray City Writer’s Workshop, Utah Housing Coalition, LUW, Midvale City Reading Program, and Utah Office of Education.
He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a full-time mission in Chile.
