Seth Adam Smith:Mormon Blogger

Seth Adam Smith is a videographer, writer, and blogger whose posts on marriage went viral. He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The first post, “Marriage Isn’t for You”—where he shared marriage advice his father gave to him when he was engaged—was posted on his blog in November 2013 and gained over 28 million views worldwide.[1] The second, “Letting My Wife Go,” was posted on Valentine’s Day 2014 and is quickly flooding the Internet.[2]

Smith was born in Alaska and raised in the American West. He is the youngest child of D. Paul and Lyn Smith. He married his wife, Kim, in 2011 after knowing each other since they were 15. They are living in Florida while Kim finishes her graduate studies.

Since 2004, Smith has produced hundreds of videos and articles for businesses, non-profit companies, artists, and political causes. He has a YouTube channel.

He is the editor in chief for the website forwardwalking,[3] which he created in 2012 to help people move forward through the challenges, trials, and heartaches in their lives. Smith has suffered from chronic depression and attempted suicide in 2006. He wrote on his blog, “I’m a deeply flawed and imperfect Mormon and I’ve often used my faith as a way to help me cope with my struggles.” He has also worked as a TrailWalker with the Anasazi Foundation.

Smith has three books forthcoming in 2014.
