Sandra Turley: Mormon Singer
Sandra Dudley Turley is a stage actor and singer, recording artist, and motivational speaker. She is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Turley grew up in Connecticut in a musical family. She was thirteen years old when she saw “Les Miserables” and knew she wanted to perform. She took voice lessons and auditioned for roles in local theater productions. In 2002, she graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor’s of fine art degree in music dance theatre. For over three years she played the lead role of Cosette in “Les Miserables” on Broadway until it closed in 2003. The Chinese government invited “Les Mis” to be the first Broadway show to be performed and she played Cosette in the premiere in Shanghai, China. She also performed the part of Ariel in Disney World’s production of “The Little Mermaid” and has performed in Steve Young’s Forever Young Foundation events. She is a motivational speaker with Deseret Book’s “Time Out for Women” and “Time Out for Girls.”
Her debut album “Sandra Turley: On Broadway” was released in 2012. She released her second album, “Inside My Soul," in July 2014.
In her autobiography, she writes that she spends ninety percent of her time “devoted to the role of wife and mother” and ten percent to her creative and performing interests. Sandra and her husband, Josh, live in Maryland and have four children.[1]
