San Jose California Temple
In his closing remarks at the 193rd Annual General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, President Russell M. Nelson announced plans to construct a temple in San Jose, California.
The San Jose California Temple will be the 11th temple built in the state. San Jose, the third-largest city in California, is located south of the San Francisco Bay area. It is part of Silicon Valley, a major technology hub. California, situated on the West Coast of the United States, has nearly 730,000 Latter-day Saints in around 1,150 congregations.[1]
Location
The San Jose California Temple will be built on a 4.73-acre site at 771 West Fremont Avenue, Sunnyvale, California. Plans call for a single-story temple of approximately 30,000 square feet and an accompanying distribution center.
