Clark Bronson

Clark Bronson is a wildlife illustrator and sculptor. He began his career as a wildlife illustrator for the Utah Fish and Game Department. His work appeared in such magazines as Boys’ Life, National Wildlife, South Dakota Conservation, Wildlife in North Carolina, Outdoor Oklahoma, Colorado Outdoors, New Mexico Wildlife, Utah Hunting and Fishing, The Denver Post, Wyoming Wildlife, and Virginia Wildlife. In 1969 he was recognized as one of the leading wildlife painters in America.

After he published two books of his art and won several national awards, he began to teach himself the art of sculpture and bronze-casting.[1] A national magazine wrote of this departure: “ Just when Clark's career as a wildlife painter was nearing full scale, he suddenly decided to switch mediums. Putting away his brushes, Bronson began sculpting. With his background in painting and firsthand knowledge of nature, the transition was made quickly and easily. With the completion of his first sculpture, it became evident that the precision and realism for which his paintings were so well known, was to take on even greater form and freedom in his work as a sculptor.”[2]

Bronson studied wildlife from a young age and his love of nature is inherent in his artwork. He and his wife, Pauline, have filmed wildlife and scenery for many years.

He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
