Douglas L. Callister served as a member of the Second Quorum of the Seventy and General Authority of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 2000 to 2009. In addition to his full-time service, he has served as Young Men president, bishop, stake president, regional representative, area seventy, Seminary teacher, and temple sealer. He presided over the Minnesota Minneapolis Mission from 1975 to 1978. He also served as a missionary in the Switzerland Mission.

Callister earned his bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University and his juris doctorate degree from the University of Southern California, and his master’s of law (LLM) degree from Harvard University. He operated the Callister & Callister law firm in Glendale, California.

He was born on February 17, 1939, in Glendale, California. He and his wife, Jeannette, are the parents of six children.
