Category:Temple Square
Temple Square is the city center of Salt Lake City and the location for the offices of the church. Temple Square was originally conceived by Brigham Young being a 40 acre square. Others around him pressed and it eventually became the 10 acre parcel it is today. Since that time, however, the church has grown the surrounding around with church related buildings that more than fill the original 40 acres Brigham Young had originally intended. While in Salt Lake, temple square is usually referred to the actual 10 acre parcel where the temple is located. Outside of Salt Lake, however, temple square is often used to describe the square and the buildings around it.
