Jon Moe: Mormon Photographer
Jon Moe is a professional photographer based in New York City. His photographs have appeared in such magazines as Elle, Brides, Glamour, Zink, Cosmopolitan, and GQ. His fashion photography clients include Bloomingdale’s, Brooks Brothers, Givenchy, Zoran, Cynthia Rowley, Robert Comstock, Danskin, and Jockey. His photographs have been published in The Fashion Book, a 150-year survey of fashion (published by Phaidon Press) and Fashion Today by Colin McDowell, an illustrated survey of modern fashion. His work has also appeared in Fathers (text by Brett Walker, music by Kurt Bestor, published by Bookcraft).
In addition to still photography, he is a cinematographer producing ad spots and image film for such clients as Eden Roc Hotel, Allure Brides, and Arbonne Perfume. He has provided art direction, photo design, and market strategy for clients.
Moe was raised in Orem, Utah, and moved to New York City where he worked as a model and earned his Bachelor of Fine Art degree in English literature and Fine Art from Columbia University. His first venture into modeling was when photographer Bruce Weber spotted him and asked to shoot him for an Italian fashion magazine. While modeling all over the world, Moe got to know great photographers and fashion designers. He has modeled for Calvin Klein, Gianni Versace, among others.
Moe and his wife, Marilee Jacobson Moe, appeared in a film produced by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, of which they are members. They are the parents of three children.
