Richard Miles: Mormon Artist

Richard Miles began painting with oils when he was ten years old. After a long career in the military—retiring as a colonel in 1986—he began his second career as a landscape and wildlife painter. One of his pieces appears in the Payson Utah Temple.
Miles was born in Ogden, Utah, on March 28, 1938. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Utah State University in 1961. He and his wife, Fay, are the parents of five children and have twenty-two grandchildren. He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
