Membership Statistics

Total membership of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for the end of the year 2024 is 17,509,781. Statistics announced for the end of 2024 also included the following: 308,682 convert baptisms; 74,127 teaching missionaries currently serving full-time missions in 450 missions and 494 districts. There are 31,676 total congregations (wards and branches) and 3,608 stakes church-wide. There are 31,120 senior service missionaries and 4,192 young service missionaries.

Countries with the Most Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as of 12 August 2024
In a list of the 30 nations with the largest Latter-day Saint populations, the Democratic Republic of the Congo made the biggest leap over the past four years, moving from No. 28 to No. 22.
The top nine countries on the list remain the same, with the United States, Mexico, Brazil, Philippines and Peru as the five nations with the most members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints among their residents. Nigeria is the new No. 10, moving up from No. 13.
The African countries of DR Congo and Nigeria are the only two among the 30 listed to move more than two places.
The Church News announced that the first district of the Church of Jesus Christ was formed in the Republic of Guinea in West Africa in Conakry, Guinea on March 30, 2025. The new district comprises the Conakry 1st and 2nd Branches and the Coyah Branch.[1]
