* As a friend of [[Alma the Younger]], he and his brothers persecuted the Church of God until an angel intervened.
* Once converted, he turned down the throne of his father in order to dedicate his life to preaching the gospel among the [[Lamanites]]. He taught the Lamanite king, who was converted and the Church of God was established among the Lamanite people.
