'''Richard Crockett Edgley''' is a [[General Authorities|General Authority]] of [http://comeuntochrist.org The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints], called as the First Counselor in the Presiding Bishopric on December 27, 1995. He has been a General Authority since 1992, when he was called to be Second Counselor to then Presiding Bishop [[Robert D. Hales]]. In 1994, when [[Merrill J. Bateman]] replaced Elder Hales as presiding bishop, Edgley was again called to serve as Second Counselor. When former first counselor [[H. Prior to his call as a General Authority, Edgley was a vice president of General Mills and a managing director of the Finance and Records Department of the Church. He has a bachelor's degree in political science from [[Brigham Young University]] and a master's degree in business administration from Indiana University. As a young man, he served as a [[Missionary]] in the eastern United States and has been a local [[bishop]] and a [[Stake President|stake president]] in the Church.

Edgley was born on February 6, 1936, to Phenoi and Ona Crockett Edgley in Preston, Idaho. He is married to the former Pauline Nielson, with whom he has six children.
