April 6th is an important date in Mormon History. The significance of the date lies in the fact that Joseph Smith revealed April 6th to be the actual date of Christ's birth. December 25th began to be celebrated as Christ's birthday sometime around the third century, partly because it marked the winter solstice on the Roman Calendar. Eastern Orthodox Churches observe the birth of Christ at Epiphany in January.April 6th in Church History
