The Young Women's Program in the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is an organization that helps young ladies, ages 12-17, realize their divine potential through goal setting, projects, and the application of gospel truths. The Young Women program underwent some changes announced at the October 2019 General Conference.[1]
- The Young Women theme was modified.
- I am a beloved daughter of heavenly parents, with a divine nature and eternal destiny. As a disciple of Jesus Christ, I strive to become like Him. I seek and act upon personal revelation and minister to others in His holy name. I will stand as a witness of God at all times and in all things and in all places. As I strive to qualify for exaltation, I cherish the gift of repentance and seek to improve each day. With faith, I will strengthen my home and family, make and keep sacred covenants, and receive the ordinances and blessings of the holy temple.
- The Young Women ceased being divided into three classes: "Beehive" (12–14), "Mia Maid" (14–16), and "Laurel" (16–18); and class structure was adjusted to fit the needs of individual wards. The names were retired and all classes are now simply called Young Women.
- The Young Women will be part of the ward youth council (formerly called the bishopric youth committee).
- Young Women weekday meetings are called Young Women activities. When they join with the young men, those activities are called youth activities.
As announced in September 2019, the Young Women will participate in the Children and Youth initiative and the Personal Progress program is retired.
