Michael Jon Bertasso is a former business executive. From 2002 to 2005, Bertasso was senior vice president and president of Heinz Asia Pacific located in Singapore. He had been with the company for seventeen years and had served on the Heinz management committee. He joined the company in 1987 as general manager of planning and control at Heinz Pet Products. A year later he was appointed vice president of purchasing and logistics. Later he assumed the same responsibilities for StarKist Seafood, adding the task of chief cost officer. In 1996, he was appointed executive vice president of StarKist and had additional responsibilities for international business development.
Before coming to Heinz, Bertasso held director-level assignments in marketing, business development, and planning at the Dallas Corporation, Anderson Clayton Foods, and Frito-Lay. He consulted for Booz Allen & Hamilton.
He was born in Caldwell, Idaho. He earned his bachelor’s degree in physical and math science from Brigham Young University. He earned a MSIA (now known as an MBA) degree from Carnegie Mellon University.
Bertasso is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He presided over the Brazil North Mission from 2005 to 2008. He and his wife, Kathleen, are the parents of seven children.
