Bryon Draper is a stone and bronze sculptor and associate professor of art at Brigham Young University. He is known for his sculptures of fragmented figures. According to Bryon, he builds “sculptures by interchanging selected cast bronze fragments of the figure with blocks of stone.”[1]
He was born and raised in Cardston, Alberta, Canada. He holds a Master of Fine Arts degree with an emphasis in sculpture from Brigham Young University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with an emphasis in three-dimensional art from Brigham Young University-Hawaii.
He and his wife, Cathenia Yawney, married in 1991 and have three children.
