D. Lee Tobler served in the Second Quorum of the Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1998 to 2003. He has served as an Area Seventy, stake president, stake presidency counselor, and bishop twice. He was a missionary in the Swiss Austrian Mission from 1953 to 1956.

He was born on July 25, 1933, in Provo, Utah, and grew up in Nevada and Idaho. He earned his bachelor’s degree in finance and economics from Brigham Young University and a master’s of business administration from Northwestern University. He first worked with Exxon in New York City for over a decade then worked with Aetna Life and Casualty in Connecticut, the Zapata Corporation in Texas, and with the BF Goodrich Company in Ohio.

He and his wife, Darlene, are the parents of six children.
