Gerald E. Melchin was a General Authority of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was sustained as a member of the First Quorum of the Seventy in October 1988 and in April 1989 he was transferred to the newly formed Second Quorum of the Seventy and served until 1993. During his service, he was the Assistant Executive Director for the Family History Department and the Assistant Executive Director of the Temple Department, among other positions.
