Barlow Bradford Mormon Conductor

Barlow Bradford is a conductor, composer, arranger, pianist, organist, and teacher. He is the cofounder of the Utah Chamber Artists and continues to conduct the organization. He is an associate professor in the School of Music at the University of Utah. He also taught at Brigham Young University-Hawaii.

He has published numerous compositions and arrangements of choral and orchestral music. Many of his arrangements have been recorded by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and performed regularly by such noted ensembles as the Dallas Symphony Chorus, New York Choral Artists, and the Utah Chamber Artists.

He was director of orchestras at the University of Utah. He was appointed the first music director of the Orchestra at Temple Square where he served from 1999 to 2003, and associate director of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir (also from 1999 to 2003).

He holds a doctorate of musical arts degree from the University of Southern California. He studied conducting at the Aspen Music Festival and the Tanglewood Music Festival. He earned his bachelor’s degree in music piano performance from the University of Utah.

He is the recipient of numerous honors and awards including Grand Prix winner for choral singing in 2015 and 2014 (Grand Prix Winner, European Grand Prix for Choral Singing, University of Utah Chamber Choir and Grand Prix winner, Florilege International Competition for Choirs, University of Utah Chamber Choir).
