Dean Heller mormon
Dean Heller, U.S. congressman, was born May 10, 1960 in Castro Valley, Alemeda County, California and raised in Carson City. He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, sometimes casually called the Mormon Church.

Family

Dean has five brothers and sisters and loves attending his children's events. Dean and his wife, Lynne, who met while they attended the University of Southern California, live in Carson City with their three younger children Harris, Drew, and Emmy. Their daughter Hilary attends Arizona State University.

Education

Dean graduated from Carson High School. He received a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, specializing in finance and securities analysis, from the University of Southern California in 1985 and worked as a stockbroker and as a broker/trader on the Pacific Stock Exchange.

Politics

Heller served in the Nevada Assembly from 1990-94. He was first elected Secretary of State in 1994, and was re-elected in 1998 and 2002. On November 7, 2006, Dean was elected as a Republican to the US Congress as Nevada's Representative for the Second Congressional District. He is the third person to hold this seat since its creation.
