John Craven (born 1929) is an English Latter-day Saint hymnwriter. He is the author and composer of the hymn "The Priesthood of Our Lord".
Craven was raised as a Baptist but later joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This was largely as a result of his interactions with Dawn whom he later married.
Brother Carven was a faculty member at Dudley College. He later retired and moved to Canada.
