Nimrod is a character from the Book of Mormon. Nimrod was the last leader of the dissenting kingdom of his grandfather Noah. The kingdom was created when his grandfather sought to overthrow the Jaredite kingdom of Shule. Having captured Shule, Noah was about to put him to death, but was killed by Shule's sons. He was succeeded briefly by Cohor, who was then slain in battle by Shule. This left the kingdom to Nimrod. Nimrod, however, turned the kingdom over to Shule, thereby merging the Jaredites again under one ruler.
