Revision as of 10:27, 11 October 2024

During his general conference message on October 6, 2024, President Russell M. Nelson announced plans to construct a temple in Medellín, Colombia, the second-largest city in Colombia. With dedicated houses of the Lord in Bogotá and Barranquilla, and an announced temple for Cali, the temple in Medellín will be the fourth in the country.

Missionaries first arrived in Colombia in 1966. The first members of the Church lived in Cali and Bogotá. Today more than 215,000 Latter-day Saints comprise nearly 260 congregations in Colombia. The Medellín Colombia Temple is one of seventeen newly announced temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.[1]

Location

The Medellín Colombia Temple is currently in the planning stages. The specific location will be announced later.
