To fast is to go without food or drink for a period of time. In the church, this is done on Fast Day, usually on the first Sunday of the month for two meals. The meetings change just slightly, as well, with Sacrament Meeting having not planned speakers, but rather having members from the congregation to come up and bear their testimonies. This is known as [Fast and Testimony Meeting]].
