Mormon Law Society

The J. Reuben Clark Law Society is sponsored by the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University and has over 10,000 members worldwide. The Law Society is open to law students, law graduates and attorneys, whether practicing law, teaching, in the judiciary, in business or not currently practicing. The chair of the Society in 2011 is Nancy Van Slooten.

The mission statement of the Law Society is...

"We affirm the strength brought to the law by a lawyer’s personal religious conviction. We strive through public service and professional excellence to promote fairness and virtue founded upon the rule of law."

As per the Society's association with BYU, and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Mormon Church, the Society rests on a framework of religious conviction, as follows:
