William R. Walker is a former security and investment-banking executive. As of October 2014, he is an emeritus General Authority of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Walker was born on May 25, 1944, in Raymond, Alberta, Canada. He graduated from Brigham Young University and worked for American Express, Citibank, and Barclay’s Bank. He was a member of the board of directors of the Beneficial Financial Group.
He was called to the Second Quorum of the Seventy in 2002 and served for six years. In April 2008, he was called to the First Quorum of the Seventy. He served as the Executive Director of the Temple Department from 2007 to 2014. He was designated emeritus general authority in October 2014.
