Lloyd Aldin Porter has been a General Authority of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints since April 4, 1987, when he was called to serve as a member of the First Quorum of the Seventy. On April 1, 1989, he was transferred to the Second Quorum of the Seventy, where he served until April 6, 1992, when he was sustained as a member of the First Quorum of the Seventy once more. He served in the Presidency of the Seventy from August 15, 1992, to August 15, 2001. He was granted emeritus status on October 6, 2001.
