Lacey Nymeyer-John is a Olympic silver medalist and former swimming competitor. In Beijing, she also competed in the 100-meter freestyle, an individual event, and she placed twelfth.
Nymeyer-John was born on October 29, 1985, and raised in Tucson, Arizona. In high school she was a Swimming Scholastic All-American for three years. While attending the University of Arizona, she competed on the swimming and diving team. During her senior year, she placed first in the 200-yard freestyle relay, the 400-yard freestyle relay, the 400-yard medley relay, and the 800-yard medley relay at the 2008 NCAA Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships. She was named 2009 Woman of the Year for the Pac-10 Conference and 2009 NCAA Woman of the Year.
She was part of the record-breaking 4x200-meter freestyle relay team at the 2007 World Aquatics Championships. She was again a member of that relay team that placed second in the 2009 World Championships. She holds two gold medals from the 2006 Pan Pacifics.
