John E. Fowler was a General Authority Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the Second Quorum of the Seventy from 1992 to 1997. He also served as a high councilor, stake presidency counselor, stake president, and Regional Representative. He taught early morning Seminary and Institute at Tulane University. He presided over the Georgia Atlanta Mission. As a young man he served in the Southern Australian Mission. In 2014, he became the director of the Washington D.C. Temple Visitors' Center.
