Stephen Carter is the author of an essay collection entitled What of the Night?. He is the director of publications and editor of Sunstone Education Foundation, a position he has held since June 2008. He has been a high school English teacher, a university composition instructor, and newspaper reporter.
Carter earned an MFA degree in fiction and a PhD in narrative studies in cross-cultural education from the University of Alaska Fairbanks, and an MEd degree in curriculum and instruction from Montana State University, Bozeman.
He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
