Shelly Brown is the author of her debut children’s book, Ghostsitter. Although this is her first, she has helped her husband, Chad Morris with his children’s books, including their coauthored Mustaches for Maddie, which won the prestigious Buckeye Children's Book Award in 2018. The book tells the story of their daughter Maddie who was diagnosed with a brain tumor and how to face trials with humor and courage. They also coauthored Willa and the Whale and Squint, which won the Nebraska Book award for 2019. She and Morris are the parents of five children.
She was born in Portland, Oregon, and grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. She is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
