He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and an associate degree in computer science from Brigham Young University-Hawaii. He received an MBA from the Hong Kong Open University.
He has served in numerous Church callings, such as ward clerk, Sunday School president, Young Men president, bishop, stake president, and Area Seventy. In April 2014, he was sustained to the First Quorum of the Seventy.
