Amy Harmon is young adult author of such novels as Slow Dance in Purgatory, Prom Night in Purgatory, Running Barefoot, A Different Blue, Making Faces, Infinity + One, The Law of Moses, The Song of David, The Bird and the Sword, and From Sand and Ash. She became a New York Times Best-selling author with A Different Blue.
Harmon is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and grew up in Levan, Utah. She taught English and history to sixth and seventh graders at a Christian school in Nevada and home schooled her children. She and her husband are the parents of four children.
While living in Las Vegas, she sang with Saints Unified Voices Choir, directed by Gladys Knight. She was raised in the small Utah town of Levan.
