Gary B. Sabin is a General Authority Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was sustained on April 2, 2016. In the Saturday morning session of general conference on April 6, 2024, President Dallin H. Oaks announced that Elder Sabin will be released and receive emeritus status on August 1, 2024.
He was born on April 7, 1954, in Provo, Utah. He earned an associate degree in language and a bachelor’s degree in university studies/finance from Brigham Young University. He received a master’s degree in management from Stanford University. He was founder/chairman/CEO of several companies, including Excel Realty Trust, Price Legacy, Excel Realty Holdings and Excel Trust.
He has served in the Church as bishop, stake president, and Area Seventy. He served a full-time mission to the Belgium/Holland Mission. He was serving as a member of the Fifth Quorum of the Seventy at the time of his call as a General Authority.
