Alexis "Lexi" Lagan is an Olympic pistol shooter in both the Women's Sport Pistol and the Women's Air Pistol. She competed in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics held in 2021 and placed in the top twenty of two events. In the 10-meter air pistol qualifications, she was 38th of 53. In the 25-meter pistol shoot, she was 18th overall. In the 20-meter air pistol mixed team event, she and teammate Nicholaus Mowrer placed 16th. She also took 38th in the 10-meter air pistol.

Lagan secured her second Olympic berth — and third trip to the Games — based on her performance in women’s air pistol at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials in early January 2024. She was one of five U.S. shooters to qualify from that competition held in Anniston, Alabama. She placed 25th overall in the 10-meter air pistol qualification event—the top eight moved on to the finals. She wrote on social media, "I feel good about my competition. I'm disappointed about not making the final, of course. . . . I'm proud of today."[1]

She also won the silver medal at the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile, in women’s air pistol, and took a bronze medal in women’s sport pistol.

She is a native of Boulder City, Nevada. She has a bachelor's degree in pre-law physics. Her father is a retired police officer and firearm instructor, and she started shooting with him at a young age. She began shooting international pistol at the University of Utah and at the collegiate level she won national titles in women's and mixed team events. She was on several All-American teams. She won the Olympic Alternate seat in Women’s Air Pistol in the Rio Olympic games in 2016, narrowly missing the opportunity to join Team USA but was part of the social media team that covered the event.

She won the national championships in sport pistol in 2017 and 2019 and in air pistol in 2016, 2018, and 2019. She won a gold medal at the 2018 Championship of the Americas [CAT] Games in Guadalajara, Mexico, which secured a spot for her at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.

Lexi is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She married Jacob Peterson in January 2024.

Lexi was joined by other Latter-day Saint Olympic athletes addressing young adults on the topic of “Sports and the Gospel” at a devotional in a Versailles meetinghouse on Sunday, July 28, with Elder Franck A.
