M. Catherine Thomas was an assistant professor of Ancient Scripture at Brigham Young University. Thomas holds a PhD in Early Christian History from BYU. She has written numerous articles and is the author of Selected Writings of M. Catherine Thomas, Spiritual Lightening, Light in the Wilderness: Explorations in the Spiritual Life, and The Doer of Our Deeds.
She was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the age of 19 and met her husband at BYU-Hawaii. They are the parents of six children.
