David Nixon is a former professional football linebacker. He was an undrafted free agent in the 2009 NFL Draft and immediately after the draft signed with the Oakland Raiders. He signed with the practice squad on September 6, 2009. He was promoted to active roster on November 21 and played in three regular season games. Although he participated in the Raiders 2010 training camp, he was placed on waivers on September 4, 2010.

Nixon then played three seasons for the Houston Texans after he was claimed off waivers. He was waived on October 19, 2010. He was signed to the St. Louis Rams practice squad, then moved to the active roster on December 7, 2010. He was waived on August 6, 2011. On August 9, 2011, he signed with the Miami Dolphins but was cut during the final cuts prior to the regular season.

Nixon was born on March 16, 1985, in College Station, Texas. He attended Brigham Young University and was an All-Mountain West Conference second team selection his senior season. During his final season as a team captain Nixon set a new Mountain West Conference record with his 43 career tackles for loss and finished the season second on the team in tackles with 90.
