Alex Whittingham is an NFL coach, having joined the Kansas City Chiefs in 2018 as a defensive assistant. He became defensive quality control coach in 2020. He has won two Super Bowls with the team, the first in 2020 (LIV) and the second in 2023 (LVII).

Whittingham played college football for the University of Utah, where his father is head coach. Alex is a three-time honorable mention Pac-12 All-Academic. He also earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology.

He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a full-time mission to New Zealand. He has been open about his experience with anxiety, depression, and OCD tendencies, which brought him home from his mission after serving for 15 months.
