Kellen Moore is an American football coach and former professional football player. He was appointed offensive coordinator for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2024. He and the Eagles dominated against Andy Reid's Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl on February 9, 2025. The following Tuesday, the New Orleans Saints announced that Kellen Moore is the franchise’s new head coach.

“I am excited to join the New Orleans Saints and deeply appreciate the faith that Mrs. (Gayle) Benson and the entire Saints organization have placed in me,” Moore said in a statement. “I look forward to embracing the challenges ahead and am eager to get started. I would also like to thank the Philadelphia Eagles for an incredible 2024 season. I’m excited to begin this new chapter.”[1]

News releases in January 2025 indicated that the Dallas Cowboys has requested permission to interview Moore for its head coaching vacancy. Moore was previously on the Cowboys’ coaching staff from 2018-22. However, the Cowboys promoted the team's offensive coordinator. Instead, Moore is the "most likely head coach" for the New Orleans Saints. Moore has interviewed twice with the Saints.[2]

Moore played for Boise State University where he set the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) record for quarterback wins. He was also mentioned by major sports media as a top candidate for the 2010 Heisman Trophy and became the first Boise State player to be a Heisman finalist. He was also a finalist for the Davey O'Brien Award, the Maxwell Award, and the Manning Award.

He was not selected in the 2012 NFL draft, but the Detroit Lions signed him post-draft. He never made the active roster and was cut in September 2015. He signed with the Dallas Cowboys the next day and finally saw his first start in December. In a game against the Washington Redskins, he became the fifth quarterback in team history to throw for 400 or more yards in a single game and also passed for the sixth-most yards in team history for a single game.

He was put on injured reserve in August 2016, then re-signed three times in 2017 and finally retired in January 2018. He became the Cowboys’ quarterback coach that year. He was promoted to offensive coordinator in 2019 and stayed with the Cowboys until January 29, 2023. He was hired the next day as offensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Chargers. On February 5, 2024, the Philadelphia Eagles named Moore their new offensive coordinator.

In September 2024, while in Idaho promoting his book The Law of Love, football legend Steve Young was asked about Moore during an appearance on a Boise radio show. Young said, “I’ll whisper it to you guys — he needs to be a future coach at BYU. We won’t worry about that right now.”[3]

Moore was born on July 5, 1988, in Prosser, Washington. He and his wife, Julie, have three children.
