Gospel Doctrine is the name of a Sunday School class which the majority of adult ward members typically attend. It teaches the doctrines of the gospel through the four major standard works of scripture. Each year the course of study covers one major book (Old Testament, New Testament, Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants) in that order. A lesson manual is provided by the Church. The same lesson manual is used throughout the world, so that a person can travel from place to place and still follow the same course of study.
- The Gospel Doctrine course of study for 2008 is the Book of Mormon. The manual can be accessed by clicking here.
- The 2009 course of study is Doctrine and Covenants [1]
- The 2010 course of study will be Old Testament [2]
- The 2011 course of study will be will be the New Testament [3]. (The Church uses the King James Version of the Bible.)
