Bruce Brainard is a landscape artist. He grew up in a small farming community in southeastern Idaho, near the Grand Tetons. He earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis in oil painting and his Master of Fine Arts from Brigham Young University. He has had many solo exhibitions and group exhibitions. Many private and corporate parties collect his work.
Brainard is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He once told the Deseret News that his paintings give a feeling of serenity. “I’ve had people grab me by the hand and ask ‘Where do you find this peace?’” He tells them he found it in the LDS Church and then suggests they talk to the missionaries.[1] He also says that he creates landscapes metaphorically, using symbols and archetypes.
Brainard and his wife and children live in Utah County.
