Laura Harris Hales is a freelance copyeditor and author. She received a bachelor's degree in international relations from Brigham Young University and a master's degree in professional writing from New England College. With her husband, Brian C. Hales, she coauthored Joseph Smith's Polygamy: Toward a Better Understanding. They maintain the website JosephSmithsPolygamy.org. She is the editor of A Reason for Faith, an anthology which is described as “offering faithful answers to sincere questions.”[1] She is the copy editor of Mormon Historical Studies.
She has also worked as both a paralegal and as an adjunct professor of English. She married Hales in 2013 and combined they have nine children. She is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
