Terry Rooney was a member of Parliament in Great Britain. He belongs to the Labour Party and was first elected in 1990 for Bradford North. He served until 2010 when his constituency was abolished in boundary changes and he was defeated. He was the only member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the British Parliament.

Rooney was born in Bradford, West Riding of Yorkshire, on November 11, 1950. He graduated from Bradford College, obtaining a diploma in higher education. He was a welfare rights advisor and a Bradford City Councillor before his election to Parliament. He is an active trade unionist and a member of Amicus and UNISON.

He and his wife, Susanne, have three children.
