Tyson Murphy Mormon Artist

Tyson D. Murphy is a digital artist and animator. He is a lead character artist on World of Warcraft at Blizzard Entertainment. He is also a freelance illustrator. One of his fun projects is to infuse light into scenes of some of his favorite Disney movies. He has said that the originals were made during a time when less lighting was painted into the scenes.[1] He has also worked at Chair Entertainment and Disney Interactive.

Murphy is from Alpine, Utah, one of seven children born to baseball player Dale Murphy. He drew a cartoon for his father for a 2012 Christmas present that was featured in an article on Murphy’s hope for the Baseball Hall of Fame that appeared in USA Today [2], the Deseret News.[3], and other news sources.

Murphy studied animation at Brigham Young University, graduating with a bachelor’s of fine art in 2011. He and his wife, Valerie, live in Orange County with their two children. He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
