Steve Kaufusi, born Sitiveni P. Kaufusi in Nuku’alofa, Tonga, is a former professional football defensive lineman. He played for the Philadelphia Eagles from 1988 to 1990. He also played football for Brigham Young University (defensive lineman) from 1985 to 1987 and Dixie College.
After playing pro football, Kaufusi attended graduate school at the University of Utah and started his college coaching career with the University of Utah Utes. He returned to his alma mater as defensive line coach, a position he held from 2002 to January 2018.
He and his wife, Michelle, are the parents of five children, including Bronson, who played for the New York Jets, and Corbin, who signed with the New Orleans Saints in April 2019.
