Lloyd Burch is an inventor who won the 2017 Utah Genius Award for the individual with the most patents in 2016: sixteen. The Utah Genius Award is granted on merit; there are no nominations or voting.
Burch is a distinguished engineer at Micro Focus, formerly Novell, where he has worked since March 1990. He was a lead software developer with Wordperfect for ten years, and senior developer at Wordperfect for almost five years. He earned his bachelor of science degree from Brigham Young University.
Burch is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
